Subject: Guitar Hero Accessible for ALL!

Game controllers are always getting more and more complicated and with new games often comes new controllers as is the way with the Guitar Hero series which has guitar and drum controllers that may not be useful to people with physical difficulties. However a company known as Enabling Devices has come up with this solution:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81vtc0Qy1Zs&feature=player_embedded   The device itself can be bought here:   http://enablingdevices.com/catalog/toys_for_disabled_children/adapted-games/g…

Just randomly messing about with spicynodes.org to test out a few ideas for interesting ways to display information in an easy to read accessible manner.

  Check it out:

This is something I am going to build on over time and hopefully build into something that works.

Indie Watch

Ok here’s a couple of games from my Kongregate favourites that I’ve played in the past:

Don’t Shit Your Pants

http://www.kongregate.com/games/Rete/dont-shit-your-pants

Great SCUMM looking game! Very short but different endings ftw!

Upgrade Complete

http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/upgrade-complete

Game starts off looking shitty and you spend your in game currency to upgrade the game. Be it giving the game an actual menu or sound or improving the graphics.

The X Spot

Fun little puzzler where you have to find the X.

Enabled 4 Gaming is here!

After months of planning and dithering I am finally able to reveal Enabled 4 Gaming!

Enabled 4 Gaming is a website aiming to review and analyse how games are enabled for all to player no matter what your ability/ possible disabilities. Along with this I also intend for the website to look at new accessible technology that opens up new avenues of interaction both in gaming and everyday life.

There are many features and article types I hope to bring to you in the upcoming months ranging from reviews of games from an accessibility point of view, hardware video reviews and editorials speaking around subject matters relating to this.

The site is for the most part going to work on a monthly basis. With me working towards a set deadline each month to get content out there. This somewhat fits in with my work schedule a and allows me to finish articles to a higher quality rather than having to rush to rattle out an article a day. However hopefully as the site expands and with there already being the possibility of other people joining the ranks as writers, with any luck the amount of regular content will increase.
I hope to get at least one guest editorial a month which will hopefully encompass a range of differing subject matter as well as tackle the issues raised on this site but from an alternative standpoint.

For more about the website and about me please check out the About page and please check back for updates. Please also subscribe to me on twitter at https://twitter.com/flameboy84 which will update everytime an article is posted here as well as other random titbits.

Enabled 4 Gaming!

Is an exciting new venture, more info coming soon!

Just a quick test!

Ok so am trying out a new method for publishing across various blogs and social networking mediums! Here’s hoping it works.

Backlog Clearing Review and a bit of housekeeping

Ok so its been plain to see for all there have been no updates about my backlog clearing exploits. As a result of this the mission has to be regarded as something of a failure. This is largely due to me not getting a proper crack on before I went to Krakow. Then due to this Volcanic Ash shit I got stuck there…woe me for not packing my DS!

I’m pretty much done with Boy and his Blob though despite it leaving me thinking I’d completed the game and then chucking more at me. It’s Super Street Fighter IV this week which will halt any further progress.

I’m  not promising anything but I do kinda have some video features planned in the upcoming days. Like I said no promises as in the past I’ve not delivered on stuff to my general lethargy!

Backlog Clearing Day 4 & 5- I am ashamed to admit.

I have never completed Super Mario Brothers 3 and after the last two days I still haven’t! I’ve always got stuck on World 8 and I still am! I hope to rectify this over the next two days. I could never do it as a kid and for whatever reason now I am still finding it seemingly impossible to get it done now sigh… I have also worked that little bit closer towards finishing Boy and his Blob I am now up to level 6 of the 4th World. So two more days (three at a push) and then its off to sunny Krakow (hopefully!) I’m off to watch football today so am going equipped with my PSP and my copy of Lego Star Wars 2: Original Trilogy a game I can casually play on the car journey down.

Backlog Clearing Day 3 – Nothing and likely won’t be!

So despite my best efforts today I have not managed to beat any games! Yes I know what your thinking its only 1.39 in the afternoon but my girlfriend is on her way and that means no games getting finished… I managed to fit in a couple of levels of Boy and his Blob which I’m to World 4 on. I’ve been looking through my backloggery as well and remember some massive holes in my completion, games to put it simple everyone should have beaten yet I havn’t. So in the upcoming days I plan on rectifying such problems.
